The basics
The ongoing money an earner sends to family and extended family. An allowance to a parent, school fees for a sibling, help for an aunt. It is a common arrangement, and the name is widely used — though it has nothing to do with a revenue authority.
No. The pot sets money aside so it is not spent by accident, but its purpose is to leave. A savings goal is money you are keeping; this is money you have already promised to someone else.
Yes. Money moves between BlackTax accounts. This does not send to a bank account you type in.
One per currency. If you send in naira and in another currency, those are two pots and two lists.
Promises and schedules
A pledge is what you told someone they can count on. A schedule is the instruction that actually sends money. You can have one without the other. Changing a pledge does not change a schedule, and the app will tell you when the two no longer match rather than quietly fixing it.
Yes, as a percentage split. Be aware that pausing one person raises everyone else’s share — the app shows you every new amount before you confirm, and offers to lower the total instead.
Send by hand, any time, to anyone on your list. It comes out of the pot and it appears in the record.
When things go wrong
On a fixed schedule, nobody is paid and the run tries again. Paying some of your relatives and not others creates a conversation you did not choose to start.
Only if you turn that on. It is off by default, it has a cap you set, and it will not go below a floor you leave in your main account.
Yes, and that is the one notification you cannot switch off.
Nothing was due, or the pot was paused. It is not a failure, and it still gets a record — otherwise a quiet month would look the same as a broken app.
If someone listed you
What that one person promised you, and the payments they have made to you. Nothing about their balance, their other arrangements, or anyone else on their list.
If the person who listed you has allowed it. You ask for an amount with a reason; they approve or decline.
It expires. That is not the same as being declined, and the app does not present it as one.
Yes. Each arrangement is separate, and neither person sees the other.

Setting money aside and keeping the record are free. Whether moving money carries a fee is not settled — the pricing page says exactly what is and is not decided.
No. There is no group, no rotation and no collective decision. This is one person’s arrangement with each of several people, kept separately.
